We got new rumored specs for Sony’s new monster-phablet the Xperia Z Ultra (Togari), so let us take a look at it…
- Snapdragon 800 CPU
- 8MP back facing camera
- 2.2MP front facing camera
- 179.2 x 92 x 6.5mm @ 212g
- Jelly Bean 4.2
I think 2GB of ram should be a safe bet here as well. Battery is supposed to have 3000 mAh
Ok, so what should I think about that. The specs itself are top-notch and not outdated, seems to be a first for Sony, that is a good sign. Also the screen should be heavily improved compared to the Xperia Z. But I don’t know if Sony is ready for a phablet yet. They should figure out how to make a worthy high-end smartphone first before they dip their toes into new waters. The battery size could be just enough considering the new Snapdragon 800 is supposed to be very power efficient, but we have to see about that. There is no talk about a stylus but according to the latest rumor a simple pencil should do the job. Exited to see how this will turn out. Personally I would have rather seen those specs in a 5″ package than the humongous 6.4 which just seems too much over the top, at least it won’t fit into any of my pockets comfortably. Sorry Sony, I think this will be another failed attempt to get the attention to play with the big boys. Maybe the Honami will change that though…
